Chess on a plane
Airplane mode kills every online chess app. ChessP2P doesn't care — it pairs two iPhones directly over Bluetooth.
Play a friend over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. No internet, no accounts, no ads. Just two iPhones and a board.
Built for chess on a plane, chess in a tunnel, and the rest of the time you don't have signal.
Airplane mode kills every online chess app. ChessP2P doesn't care — it pairs two iPhones directly over Bluetooth.
Subway, basement, festival, road trip — anywhere the bars die. Pass-and-play on one phone, or peer-to-peer on two.
No account. No login. No "rate this app." Open it, tap to connect, play. The way casual chess should feel.
One taps Host, the other taps Join. That's the whole onboarding.
ChessP2P uses Apple's MultipeerConnectivity — direct device-to-device, no servers, no router required.
Full chess rules, draw offers, clocks. Moves sync instantly between phones. Disconnections are forgiven; the game is saved on both sides.
Yes — ChessP2P is built to be offline-first. Two iPhones pair directly over Bluetooth or peer-to-peer Wi-Fi. There is no server, so chess offline works the same on a plane, in a tunnel, or at the bottom of a parking garage.
That's the whole point. Put both phones in airplane mode, open ChessP2P on both, and pair them over Bluetooth. You'll get a full chess game with clocks and draw offers without ever touching the in-flight Wi-Fi. If you've searched for chess on plane or chess p2p apps and been frustrated by ones that demand a connection, this is what you wanted.
Yes. Pass-and-play on a single phone is the default mode — two players, one device, board flips after each move. If you have a second iPhone, you can also play peer-to-peer with the board oriented correctly on each screen.
The core chess experience — pass-and-play, peer-to-peer, clocks, draw offers — is free with no ads. Cosmetic boards, pieces, and a one-time premium unlock are planned, but the free tier is a complete chess game.
No. ChessP2P has no accounts, no login, no email collection. Your games are stored on your device. Casual chess shouldn't require a profile.
Not yet — ChessP2P is iOS-only at launch. An Android version is on the roadmap. Drop your email below if you'd like to be notified when it ships.
One email when ChessP2P hits the App Store. Nothing else.
Thanks — you're on the list.
